Re: Submitting Personas Y/N?

I am very confused. Personas are just a hack with a toolbar background and a couple of text css colors. What does that have to do with skinning or branding? It was just a thought/suggestion. Personally, I think the Pale Moon and even New Moon persona is much nicer then the standard "solid color" te...

Re: Submitting Personas Y/N?

Since that in gentoo, it is possible to compile palemoon with either branding off/on, perhaps it could be an idea to add a "New Moon" theme to the Persona's page and replace the Default theme with the New Moon theme when compiling palemoon with branding off, and use the Pale Moon theme when compilin...

Re: Github support for palemoon

Yes, I hadn't thought of this, but user agent switching will indeed resolve it. Probably best to do it using an extension like: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-overrider/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/uaswitcher/ (there's also https://addons.palemoon.org/ad...

Github support for palemoon

I'm not sure whether this is just affecting me, but I can no longer do any commits to github (web version) with palemoon v27.9 (will check for 28 too, but it seems to affect everything). Even somewhat older versions of chrome and firefox are no longer supported. Is there some way to get around this ...

Re: Disable bookmarks toolbar

Thanks gepus. I copied that file. It does seem to have some screen size info in it too, so hopefully that doesn't cause issues with other screens. The line reads: {"chrome://browser/content/browser.xul":{"main-window":{"width":"768","height":"528","screenX":"126","screenY":"94","sizemode":"maximized...

Re: Disable bookmarks toolbar

I found the profiles folder, but I prefer to not need to copy over the entire folder for inclusion to catalyst. Also, the profile folder is not yet created in the distro, and its best to keep it that way for distro version updating reasons (which means that the profile is made on startup and the pro...

Re: Disable bookmarks toolbar

Goodydino wrote:View menu > Toolbars > uncheck Bookmarks Toolbar.
Yes I know that's the general way to do it, but as I said in my first post, I can't store any settings.
So I would like a way to do this that I can program into a script. So I need the command line method to do it, and not via the gui.

Disable bookmarks toolbar

Can I disable the bookmarks toolbar via a ABOUT:PREFERENCES or ABOUT:CONFIG line ?
I would like to disable it this way for my live cd (mainly because storing settings is impossible and for next versions of the livecd I prefer not needing to do this again).

Re: TAZ distro with palemoon on musl: almost there

VCTLabs' pull request of 16 june 2018 was dismissed by deu at 18 August (https://github.com/deu/palemoon-overlay/pull/66 ). Deu mentioned then that the pull request could instead be done upstream (we'll look into this option). In either case, the pull request would already need an update as we need ...

Re: TAZ distro with palemoon on musl: almost there

We'll roll out the needed changes into the palemoon overlay next. The needed changes for palemoon were bundled in VCTLabs' pull request of 16 june 2018 see here: https://github.com/deu/palemoon-overlay/pull/66 We're currently continuing on the distro (TAZ) itself. Since future versions of the distr...

Re: TAZ distro with palemoon on musl: almost there

What about other Gtk-2 applications? Are fonts rendering properly? Yes - geany, claws, and some lxde stuff were all compiled against it, and all those others can render fonts. HOWEVER, those were all compiled with a newer toolchain, whereas we switched to gcc-4.9 when building palemoon per Deu's re...

The patch you used stopped the crash on first startup:

Fonts still don't work.

TAZ distro with palemoon on musl: almost there

As mentioned on earlier posts, me and VCTLabs are building the TAZ distro that is also going to include palemoon as the main browser. The entire distro (thus including palemoon) is going to run on musl. There have been a few attemps in the past to make palemoon run on musl, but so far nothing has be...

I meant the following in that link:

the issues mentioned in that last URL can be resolved by replacing "caddr_t" everywhere by "void *" in the code base.

Re: Providing of uclibc / musl patches in attendance of pale moon sourcecode change

@stevepusser Yes, the patches live out in thoughtspace for the time being. Hopefully, someone from the palemoon community will make them. As for the better solution that would be for the build system to detect what compiler is in use and adapt appropriately: indeed I thought of this too, see https:/...

Providing of uclibc / musl patches in attendance of pale moon sourcecode change

For a while now, uclibc and musl remained unsupported by pale moon, meaning that people that have uclibc or musl (instead of glibc) simply are not able to run pale moon on their machine. I think this issue might soon be picked up by some developers (which might devise a way to build it on uclibc and...

encryptedweb: {8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c48dbc9}

Re: Installing/activating plugins via script

Ok. I found I could simply extract the xpi, and get the install.rdf I then opened it with notepad++, and got the ID's. I found however that many had exactly the same filenames: noscript: {73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232} cipherfox: {8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4} ublock origin: {ec8030f7...
