me had still the older 24.7.2. in use since there were some floods with some of my add-ons, esp. tab-mix-plus and toolbar-buttons.
so i checked now and then if an update work correctly, which didn't until now.
yesterday everything worked and so i'm really happy with the "new" 25.3.1.
maybe it's interesting for others how to do. anyway, it is not a great thing, don't expect any problems. on three others winxp systems there were absolutely no problems
- Palemoon 24.7.2. --> update to 25.3.
- updated Palemoon 25.3. --> restart
- then update your add-ons and restart
- check again for updates, Palemoon 25.3.1 will occur --> update & restart
- again check for add-on updates ('https everywhere' finds updates again) & restart
- now you can download your language pack ( http://www.palemoon.org/langpacks.shtml) and restart browser for the last time
all of my add-ons working correctly, except "minimize to tray" which is known not to be compatible and is not longer in development (edit: simple workaround here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5890&p=51383#p51383) and of course ad-block, which i dont use.
i hope this will help to take the fear away for updating from the old 24.7.2.
edit: i'm aware it's the 1.april today - but this is serious.

Following your successful example, I just updated my XP from 24.7.2. to 25.3.1 (Atom version). It all went very smoothly, and everything so far seems to work just fine.

The update system should now automatically offer 25.3.1 to 24.7.2 users on XP; you should not have to do a double update round for the point release anymore.

Hello all, Just wanted to let you know that I have successfully migrated my Windows XP SP3 32 Bit system to the latest Pale Moon 25.4.1 and so far I have had not one problem at all. It works smooth and after getting all my add on's working right ( minimize to tray, ABP, Forcast Fox, and Flash Video Downloader) I am a hog in mud puddle heaven All my other add on's seem to be working just fine after this update except Noia Fox. It works but when I hit the options tab in my extensions it freezes Pale Moon every time. Will post that on another post though.
