PaleMoon for Mac OS X

Unread post by cyansmoker » 2014-07-19, 03:08

I am posting this here since I already build the Linux version: do you *also* have a Mac? Or maybe run OS X in a VM?

I could use your help beta testing this very first OS X build: https://mega.co.nz/#!XABWjI7K!fiSHdR7wr ... SNzkihKqnw

Note that I need to know about the limitations you find, such as "works only on Mavericks" -- note: 64 bit only.

Cheers!

It should work on your device.

How does it not open? Is it able to open and mount the .dmg image?
Do you then move the app to /Applications and nothing happens when you double click it?

Yep. of course. but you build not work.
I think it require some Library or environment variables PATH.

Pale Moon for Mac OS X use MacPorts, Homebrew or other Library ?

Please check your work ;)

I build it using brew and XCode.

Like I said, there could be some interesting limitations; it's a "alpha/beta" build after all.

Would you mind, from the command line, typing:

Code: Select all

/Applications/Palemoon.app/Contents/MacOS/palemoon
and post the output here?

Mind posting the output of 'ls -l' while you're at it?

Thanks in advance!

Cannot find the Status Bar options...? Status Bar activity seems to take place above the Status Bar with the current defaults.

update: usually it won't start if Firefox is open (PM dock icon is enabled). When FF is closed, PM launches automatically.
update 2: maximized mode (not full screen) is often not remembered after a browser restart.
3: if the icon is kept/pinned at the Dock, it will often display two PM icons.
