[Solved] Problem with rendering issues for fallback fonts.*

Unread post by kmikazuki » 2014-12-10, 21:08

The latest version of Pale Moon overlaps character that are are east-Asian so it seems for me at-least.
Pale Moon: https://i.imgur.com/YBHBPRC.jpg (Incorrect.)
Chrome: https://i.imgur.com/epIdAWb.png (Correct.)

So far what I have tried in Pale Moon to fix the issue is:
New profile.
Different fonts.
Different encodings.

None of those work, however I notice the problem only starts to overlap characters that require to be fall-backed to.

Site where you can see the issue: http://cjkcdb.com/component/%E6%95%9D

Any help is appreciated.

* I am not sure what is the actual issue is.

The link you provided renders correctly for me in Pale Moon 25.1.0 x64. Perhaps you could give us some more information about your system (which version of Pale Moon, which distro, etc.)?

All right, here is the information requested:
Pale Moon: 25.2.0b2 (I did try downgrading to 25.1.0 still the same issue occurs.)
Linux Kernel 3.17, distro Arch Linux
RAM: 4 GB (3.4 Usable)
Graphics Card: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RS880 (Open source driver in use.)
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 B57 Processor × 2

Just for notes: I recently tried displaying the site in Mozilla Firefox and it does work.

This problem does not exist anymore, I applied a patch from the upstream of the open source driver and now it displays the characters correctly.

tl;dr not a bug on Pale Moon's side, this thread can be disregarded. :-)

Thanks for the follow-up! I'll mark this solved then.
