Faulty image rendering on CraigsList.

Color me confused.
Again...

I disabled these 2 extensions:
Flash Video Downloader & Remove Google Tracking

Re-Enabled Stylish & restarted the browser.

The yellow outline appeared as the cursor hovered over the image, but the image would not show, unless I opened the image in a new tab.

Changed Google Talk and Video Renderer plugins to 'Ask to Activate':

Restarted the browser, again:

The yellow highlight box would no longer follow the cursor over the thumb nails. This time, the images would open in the same and new tabs.

Changed Google Talk and Video Renderer plugins to 'Never Activate':
The yellow highlight box would no longer follow the cursor over the thumbs.

CraigsList is working properly now, but google's Quick Maps does not.

access2godzilla, I have not gotten around to managing the profile.

Pale Moon is working well enough that I put a low priority on the issue.

If and when I start troubleshooting it again, I'll report back what happens.

I finally had to deal with the failure of images to load properly, on CraigsList.

NoSquint is the culprit. No setting made a difference.
I tried setting the zoom to Text only and inserting CraigsList into the exceptions list.

With NoSquint disabled, the first image in a CraigsList ad show up nice. Hovering across other images will highlight the image with a yellow border, but Pale Moon will replace the first image with a white background and will not display the other images, on the same page.

The images will open in another tab.

Firefox's (Pale Moon) native per-site zooming is "less sophisticated", so it would be nice if there were a fix or an alternative to NoSquint.

It seems that newly enabling NoSquint allows craigslist to function normally on some posts, but not others. I added an Exception to NoSquint: *.craigslist.org

For example, the thumbnail images in one post will appear and there will be no large image displayed above the thumbnails.
Another post will appear and there will be a large image displayed above the thumbnails.

I'm at a loss.

Or try Antergos. Arch is pretty easy to learn and is a damn sight better than Ubuntu. Or at least use an official Ubunto flavor like Lubuntu/Xubuntu/Ubuntu Gnome/Kubuntu......etc

I'v been seeing a deluge of Linux Mint problems from everywhere lately. Mabye people should quit using a hacked together Ubuntu installation.

I use linux Mint 99% of the time. I also visit Craigslist everyday and I'm not having any problems like the OP is having. I can see the small thumbnails displayed under the larger picture. When I "hover" over the small thumbnail when there are more than one thumbnail, it will be displayed as the larger picture above it.

In another problem the OP is having, I've never yet run across the situation where the OP states he/she can see thumbnails, but no larger picture is displayed above the thumbnails.

And like the OP, I also have NoSquint installed and it doesn't cause me any problems on Craigslist. To sum up, the OP has a problem on his end some place.

As for Arch, I tried Arch three years ago and if a non technical Windows user (like me), not a power user, wants to try a linux distro, I wouldn't recommend Arch. Installing Arch for me was a PITA since I had to manually partition the drive and at that time, I didn't know what Swap, Grub and other things were. Linux terminology is different than Windows terminology. After I finally installed Arch, I found it to be command line intensive (Terminal). That's not for me since I don't like using the Terminal so I went back to Mint after about a week playing around with Arch. As a sidenote, I started with Mint 14 and only had to use the Terminal one time. Never used the Terminal with Mint 16 (I skipped 15 because of support time) or with Mint 17 on this desktop computer or with Mint 17.1 on my second desktop computer.

Everyone has their opinion and in my opinion Mint is the easiest linux distro to use if a non-technical user coming from Windows wants to try a linux distro. And Mint can be automatically installed without manual partitioning if one is not used to doing manual partitioning. Mint also found and installed the proprietary drivers for my Nvidia graphics cards (in both of my desktops since they use different graphics cards) and also the proprietary printer driver for my Canon MP 530 all in one printer through the use of Mint's gui windows which means, no Terminal commands.

I agree, in my experience Mint is the easiest distro to use for anyone wanting to try out Linux. Although I use Manjaro now (Arch-based, but more user friendly than Arch itself), I used Mint for several years, from version 13 - 16. I used a bunch of different distros for awhile (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, couple others I can't remember), and it was after using Mint for a while that I decided to ditch Windows. Even now on Manjaro, I still use a lot of Mint's software (Cinnamon, Nemo, MDM, etc.) I also have Mint installed on my wife's computer, as well as my parents and my brother-in-law's netbook. In my opinion, Mint is very well polished, has excellent driver support (never had to look farther than Mint's Driver Manager for drivers), and is probably one of the best distros out there (Mint has been #1 on DistroWatch since around the end of 2011).

Mint is the only tux flavor I'm familiar with. I like it and have grown fond of the easy navigation, even if I do not have much technical expertise. So, no other flavor, for me, for the forseeable future.

I can't explain it much better than I already have, other than to say that there does seem to be a conflict somewhere. That conflict is either with the platform or another extension, ? or could it be both?

CraigsList now displays the states/cities in a column that is no longer to the right. Instead, the states/cities are in a column below everything else, on the left side of the page.

I usually run my browser at around 75% of the screen.
There is no change if I stretch the screen from border to border.

Things began working normally after my last post this past October.
Quick Maps even started to work, again.

Things went haywire after updating the browser from 25.1.0 (x64).
I am now running PM Version: 25.2.0 (x64).

Disabling NoSqint, then restarting the browser, seems to have allowed it to work, though Quick Maps fails, again. Quick Maps works fine on some sites, including this site. But Quick Maps does not work on others such as email, craigslist and linkedin.

The address bar on CraigsList, shows a red exclamation point over the padlock, next to the CL logo, which is to the left. The tool tip show 'broken'.

I suspect that pad lock is from HTTPS Everywhere.
I tried disabling/enabling HTTPS Everywhere on CraigsList.
That did not seem to make a difference, though I did not restart PM.

Other than taking the time (which I do not want to spend) to test NoSqint against other extensions, I do not know where to look for clues.

I wonder if a complete purge and reinstallation would make a difference?
When I updated the browser, I did not close the old version.
After the update, the new version was shown in About: PM

Since it is working reasonably well, again, I will live with it and may test it against other extensions, as free time allows - unless someone can point me in the right direction.

You could try turning off hardware acceleration and see if that helps. I remember reading a while back that some people were having issues with hovering over images in Firefox, and that disabling hardware acceleration fixed the problem.

You could also try starting Pale Moon in safe mode and see if that makes a difference.
