Chop in the Scrolling.

Unread post by paddle59 » 2014-08-18, 21:29

About every inch I scroll, usually by dragging the scroll bar with the mouse, the web page "jerks" which gives choppy or jerky scrolling. The behavior is consistant and happens on every web page I've tried.

Iceweasel or FF are a bit choppy scrolling too, but the jerkiness seems averaged out throughout the page while in Palemoon it's more concentrated into regular spurts or discrete jerks as i scroll.

I've never found a way to fix this with any flavor of Mozilla - just mentioning it.

I appreciated Palemoon continuing with the "old" FF interface/theme which I think is the most useable and functional interface for a browser ever made - thank you!

I use 64 bit linux Pale Moon 24.7.1 in 64 bit linux Mint 17 and 64 bit linux SolydX. I surf the internet everyday. The only places I have experienced the jerkiness you've described is on the CNN, Fox News news sites. And I think it's their websites which are causing my problem since they've loaded their front page with lots of animated ads which I'm guessing have poorly written scripts in those animated ads.

Just a guess on my part.
Linux Mint 21.3 (Virginia) Xfce w/ Linux Pale Moon, Linux Waterfox, Linux SeaLion, Linux Firefox
MX Linux 23.2 (Libretto) Xfce w/ Linux Pale Moon, Linux Waterfox, Linux SeaLion, Linux Firefox
Linux Debian 12.5 (Bookworm) Xfce w/ Linux Pale Moon, Linux Waterfox, Linux SeaLion, Linux Firefox

You can adjust scrolling behaviour and smoothness from Preferences>Advanced>Scrolling.
