Darnit, there was one string missing in the english DTD file, the placeholder for "search tabs" text in the graphical tab switching pane.

I updated the file.

EDIT: for a quick edit, here's the string:

Code: Select all

<!ENTITY allTabs.filter.emptyText "Search Tabs">
"Sometimes, the best way to get what you want is to be a good person." -- Louis Rossmann
"Seek wisdom, not knowledge. Knowledge is of the past; wisdom is of the future." -- Native American proverb

One more question: Might I place this string in any sort or alphabetical is better?

Thanks.

It is the way I stated it. (so NOT palemoon.*)

I don't want to change the name of the control, it may have some dependencies, and I am too far along in the development cycle to do a dependency walk and change code.

And you can just tell me the translation -- I'll put it into the file manually.

Gotcha.

Sweet! Just replace Search Tabs by Buscar en pestañas. Thanks for this!

I found some that still are in English:

Tell sites that I do not want to be tracked = Decirle a los sitios que no quiero ser rastreado
Tell sites that I want to be tracked = Decirle a los sitios que quiero ser rastreado
Do not tell sites anything about my tracking preferences = No decirle a los sitios nada sobre mis preferencias de rastreo
Learn more = Aprender más aquí

That would be a problem with the Firefox langpack it's based on. I'll see if they have updated this, since it's not part of Pale Moon's additional core strings, but if not I'll manually add this.

EDIT: I just had a look at the es-MX Firefox language pack, there's a lot more there that isn't translated at all, at least in the beta langpacks I've used (although most of the features they are for, are from earlier Firefox versions)...

So I gather Mozilla doesn't have a designated es-MX translator at the moment :P

Lobo, maybe you can have a look at the following attachment and fix any leftover English strings in it, at least that would fix all preferences window strings in Pale Moon.

The ones I found are shown to the user as I checked all the tabs, windows and buttons. Maybe I passed some other but well, this will be checked later when I came back from Limbo.

Could this Preferences' untranslated strings situation affect other languages as well?

Possibly, it all depends on how complete Mozilla's language packs/localized versions of Firefox are...

Thanks Yodli! I'll update the hu language pack today, and the status bar strings will be included in the next Pale Moon point release.

Thanks for your submission. It seems you've made an entirely new translation, however, the IT strings were already translated.

I compared both, your new one uses completely different words than what was originally submitted (and your text has spelling errors (3 z's in a row isn't correct, I think...) and some white space problems).
I also don't know enough Italian to know which is better.

Attached the comparison, differences marked in red. Please go through it and explain which phrasing is better and why?
