[Solved] Can't Access Gmail Any Longer
Posted: 2013-05-04, 07:47
Hi!
I shut down Pale Moon (Version 20.0.1 running on a Dell Windows XP laptop) about an hour ago, and when I restarted it, I'm getting the following message when trying to access Gmail (and similar ones for Google and SpamArrest):
========================
You have asked Pale Moon to connect securely to mail.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
========================
I can access these sites in Opera.
I've tried closing Pale Moon, deleting the cert8.db file and restarting the browser, but that didn't work.
The only odd thing is that PC Tools blocked something called "AntiVirus Detected Files", although I'm not sure what that means.
Any clues what's going on and how I can access these sites again? I'm reluctant to click on the I Understand The Risks button and add an exception in case there really is something untoward happening.
Thanks!
