Thanks for the manual. Not really a Pale Moon problem, but enabling Direct2D acceleration in Commander brings back the font rendering issue ugliness (Win 8 x64). Something must be seriously wrong with Microsoft, as documented here. Also tried "Always use ClearType for content" but the problem remains (until Direct2D is disabled).

Actually, Direct2D is enabled by default so you probably disabled it yourself in the past ;)
Currently, there is a BIG issue with Direct2D when you have the Windows Platform Update installed. This is, however, off-topic to this particular thread as it's not a Pale Moon Commander issue, so if you want to discuss this please take it to the appropriate thread, thanks!

You can find it under the versions:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/

Why it always takes sometime for new versions to appear on AMO?

The following link points to v1.0 on the page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pale-moon-commander/versions/1.0
Or you can download and install the add-on right from this page: Add to Pale Moon

Softpedia has been notified of the new version, they may take a moment or two as well.

Any new addon or updated add-on needs to be reviewed by the AMO editors before it is published. This is because of the default "automatic updates" for add-ons being pushed out to millions of users. If there is a browser-breaking piece of code in there, or an add-on account has been compromised and a malicious add-on update is uploaded, this prevents that bad code from affecting or respectively infecting many, many computers.

That being said, AMO tends to take much more time to review add-ons than they state as average.

Updated the version of the add-on to 1.0.1, adding a single option for hiding UI placeholders on focus, and setting compatibility of the add-on to 17-24 instead of 19-21 based on compatibility checks and submitted compatibility reports. Note that some preferences may have no effect in Firefox 17 or 18!

Updated the manual accordingly as well.

Updated the version to 1.2, adding support for Pale Moon 24.0 to be published very soon.

Note: 1.2 is not available for older versions of the browser, since a number of preferences got renamed/no longer apply/were changed.

To-do: update the manual!

Hiya

When used with the NASA Night Launch theme, the text in the dialog looks like this:
http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Faziri/I ... nshot8.png

Is this a problem with Commander (since no other add-on has this problem) or a theme problem?

Note: my Windows color scheme is custom so the text may be taking a text color from somewhere, though I don't have grey text set anywhere.

The add-on doesn't use anything but standard colors for the preferences window, so it's likely an issue with the theme.

After testing the PM build for linux I noticed that Pale Moon Commander is not supported on this platform. Is there any hope for supporting it now that we have a PM for linux! :)

Does it contain many windows only options? I would like to try it out.

It's not supported on Linux because of a large number of Windows-specific graphics/rendering options. pretty much the entire "graphics" section is N/A and would need Linux equivalent tweaks.

Updated the version to 1.3.5, clarifying a few texts and adding the Dutch (NL) locale!
I really need to sit down and update the manual as well when I get a few free moments (it's lagging behind a little at 1.3.2)

I found this extension and translation to Simplified Chinese (zh-CN) on BabelZilla today, great extension.

Some feedback as follows:
1. a typo, "Force antialising on" of pmcommander.graphics.3d.webgl.msaa.force.label, "antialising" to "antialiasing". I suggest to "anti-aliasing" (includes other items).
2. a typo, "Jump Lists (Window 7 or later)" of pmcommander.ui.tabs.jumplists.caption, to "Windows 7", and may the "later" should to "higher".
3. a few of "pmcommander.js.window_", there "windows" should to "window".
4. I have an questions about the "This option only enforces that pages received over secure connections are never cached to disk, regardless if the site allows caching or not." in pmcommander.sec.priv.cache.ssl.info, this meaning is ...? sorry, I understand just now.
5. a suggestion, allows the user to copy pref name and reset preferences via the context menu, like Configuration Mania.

Not to be rude or anything, isn't this like the extension "Fasterfox?" I see all the same options but with some added futures. Well I guess Fasterfox is mainly performance tweaks and Pale Moon Commander is more of the advanced under the hood tweaks?? Am I right or not?
