Installing multiple extensions at once: Add-on Collector

Unread post by back2themoon » 2014-03-10, 09:38

I was looking for a way to install multiple extensions at once to save some time, and it seems this was possible in the past with the Add-on Collector and Massive Extender. Yet another useful feature retired from Mozilla. Maybe something worth bringing back in Pale Moon or perhaps there's still a way to do this? (apart from Sync)

Download all the extensions in the collection using Downthemall?

Can DownThemAll also install all the extensions in Pale Moon in one click? That's what this is about. It'd be great if it could but I don't see any such feature.

Select all the extensions in the download folder and drag them into the addon manager.

I don't remember how this behaves and can't try right now - aren't confirmation clicks required for each extension when using this method? If not, seems like a good alternative, although manual searching & downloading of latest/compatible versions is required.

When you drag and drop, you'll be shown a single dialog with a list of all extensions.

I'm not really sure what kind of suggestion this would be for Pale Moon, since this is an extension in itself to aid in the installation of other extensions (someone could pick up development if they want, and continue where Mozilla left off).

Moving this to add-ons & plug-ins.
