Crashy Flash... hangs entire browser while it does???
Something.
This happens to me in all browsers (except Chromium, since that pools the hanging tab in its own process while the rest of the browser gets on with it).
However, they seem to have resolved it on FF, since I hadn't seen a single page hang for a while.
To clarify, whenever I scroll through a page that contains some embedded flash video (e.g. Facebook!), it locks up the entire browser for about 30 seconds. No idea what it's doing - I imagine it has something to do with Adobe's terrible code, but surely something can be done to contain it and prevent it hanging the whole browser?
I'd really like to avoid having to remove Flash, since I use it for a lot of sites. At least until ALL of those sites move to HTML 5. Pornhub might take a while to do that though

You may want to try disabling flash protected mode (either with our tool or from Firefox's plugin page (it changes it globally)) or using an ESR version of the Flash player.
Also keep in mind that using Pale Moon x64, you are using a different version of the Flash player than Firefox (which is 32-bit). If Flash64 is less stable for you, then you may want to use the 32-bit version of Pale Moon and see if that works any better for you.

Thanks, sounds like one of those might work!
How do i configure Flash to turn protected mode off? I can't seem to find it - was not aware you had a tool to do it?
Don't actually know if I've got Flash 32bit or 64bit installed, so I'll check that.

Thanks! I've turned protected mode off, lets hope that sorts it. So far so good
And I'm running Flash x64 (v18) if it helps.

FYI, this seems to have made things much better!
Still get the occasional flash-based hang, but its for a few seconds now at most, so much more tolerable. The sooner Flash disappears from the web, the better.
Cheers.

Good to know it solved your crashing. Trust me, you're not alone in this, which is why Firefox has an option to disable protected mode for Flash, and we have the tool to make it easier for you while not making the browser need a backdoor to a system-protected file.
