Language selection is manual via about:config.
It is a one time job, but probably unknown to many new users.
Would it be possible to add a dialog, that pops up when a language file is downloaded, asking if this language should be selected, and then adjust the parameter accordingly?

Re: Language selector
I'll actually see if it's possible to have the setting changed automatically. If one installs a language pack, it can be assumed they want to switch to that language.

Re: Language selector
That's one good solution. But the language selector would also allow one to switch between two or three installed languages.

Re: Language selector
Language selector would be great idea. Many friends of mine wouldn't be able to enter about:config for sure. And also choosing the first installed language pack would be even better.
