Visual indicator when search engine keyword is triggered?

When using bookmarks as DIY search engines, you get this handy visual indicator that your search string is about to be "hijacked" by the bookmark (using Amazon as an example here because it makes a very clear one):

However, when searching with "actual" keyword-powered search engines, there is zero visual indicator that the words in the URL bar are not going to be fed to your default search engine upon pressing the enter key.
