Since I've received a few messages by now about Pale Moon not starting on Windows XP after updating to 24.1.2, I'm re-iterating here:
Windows XP users must be running Service Pack 3 for Pale Moon to run.
Service Pack 3 includes a kernel update which is required for Pale Moon. If you don't have this kernel update, you will receive an error message when trying to start the browser:
Followed by: "Could not load XPCOM"
and the browser will not run.
If you don't have Service Pack 3 yet, get it now. After installing SP3, make sure to go to windows update and install all post-SP3 hotfixes.
Service Pack 2 is not safe to run (and has not been for a long time) - security updates have not been released for SP2 systems for years so you are taking a big risk. (Life cycle for SP2 ended in 2010).
