Profile migration tool pulled

Unread post by Moonchild » 2016-06-13, 09:51

With the increasing divergence from Firefox, migrating profile data is no longer a simple task and the migration tool has become mostly pointless in the latest rendition of Firefox to migrate from.

To prevent headaches for users and people trying to provide support, I've pulled the migration tool. If you want to use Pale Moon with previous Firefox data, your best course of action is to generate bookmarks from open tabs (if you want to pull those across) with "bookmark all tabs" and then from the bookmarks/history window "export to html".
You can them import these exported bookmarks in Pale Moon, and use the "open all in tabs" feature to quickly restore all your tabs.

While we are looking into the option of having a migration tool in the future, we currently cannot give any sort of time frame when this would be possible.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause for new users.
