Beware of scam artists!

It was pointed out to me that there are apparently some scam artists active that pretend to be an official Pale Moon support service of some sort. Phone support was suggested, which might lead to other, more insidious tactics.

Please be aware of scam artists trying to ride the popularity of software!

To be 100% clear, note the following:
  • We do not offer phone support. If anyone lists a phone number for software support for the browser of any kind, it is a scam.
  • We do not offer remote assistance (someone connecting to your computer to fix a problem with the browser). Please be extremely careful with this kind of scam as malicious scammers can load junkware or ransomware on your PC in the background. Do not let anyone connect to your PC through e.g. TeamViewer or Remote Desktop that pretends to be a support person for Pale Moon (or FossaMail, or anything else we publish)
  • Our only official support channel is this forum, and to a certain degree, our official IRC channel (#palemoon) on the freenode IRC network. Nothing else.
  • Our Social Media pages are mainly for news and announcements, not for support!
